as an owner of an m9 - you have absolutely no idea what your talking about... - if you grease the pivots/bearings in the proper way, on a standard timeline, you will have zero issues, im still running on the original bearings (and it still feels brand new) and i have the first candy apple green m9 ever made - seems like you got your info from the forum jockeys or someone who doesnt know how to take care of their bike... with that being said - dont buy an m9 - its not a good bay area bike, i have to push mine to the limit every single time i ride back home, but it performs far better when im riding in better/gnarlier terrain in ashland or colorado

a 5 inch bike would be perfect for 95% of the course - im debating bringing my 6inch trail bike to the next race because its way easier to pedal than my m9

i live in ashland so ive never come up through there but its about 30 minutes from corvallis, so less than 2 hours? around there? im not exactly sure - worth the trip though - the trails are awesome

i just want to add that here at MIT Community Colledge (go fighting enginerds!!!) we have a pretty massive 3 stair jump and i broke my race face diabolus's jumping onto a mattress made of pillows and flat chested sorority girls. i didnt even land the jump, got scared and bailed and the bike landed on a random memory foam mattress a few yards away without spilling the wineglass on the other side. While i safely landed in pillows and pu**y, my bike somehow managed to snap both cranks in what i can only assume was an act of "bicycle rage" that i had ditched riding it to ride (fall on) a chick... i now have e13 cranks and have had no issues
